David Thomas Vincent passed away on October 23, 2009 at his home in Millcreek Township due to complications of Parkinson's Disease and cancer.

Tom was born July 23, 1928 in West Jordan, Utah to Thomas Frank Vincent and Rhoda Stratton Vincent, the fourth of six children.

His family moved to Midway before his first birthday where they operated a family ranch on the site that eventually became the Soldier Hollow Venue for the 2002 Winter Olympics.

Tom attended Wasatch High School in Heber City and later attended Trade Tech in Provo. He served in the Army Military Police in California during the Korean War. After the War, he returned to Utah, where he met and married Mary Martin of Park City. They settled in Salt Lake City, where he became a Construction Superintendent for Paulsen Construction supervising the construction of numerous buildings across the valley. Tom was a Master Carpenter and was known as someone who could fix and build anything.

He loved music and sang all the time around the house. One of his favorite pastimes was to make tape recordings of his favorite artists to give to family and friends. He was a great entertainer, with his backdoor always open, a fresh cup of coffee waiting on the table and a joke or story to tell. He cherished his family and friends, and enjoyed spending time with them at his ranch near Darby, MT. He always said, "It's not what you're doing; it's who you're doing it with."

Tom is survived by his wife Mary, three children, Dave (Ann), Larene (Steve) Pearce, and Janette (Eric) Mittelstadt; eight grandchildren, Cody (Stacie) Pearce, Serena Pearce (fiancÚ Jim Robertson); Thomas, Sam, and James Vincent; Alec, Cullen, and Ella Mittelstadt; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Glen, Keith (Carma), Ross (Anne), and Fred; and one sister, Margaret (Fenton) Durtchi. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church (CUMC).

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 29, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive (1495 East), East Millcreek. Prior to the services, family and friends may call from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
A reception and celebration of Tom's life will be held following the services at 4:00 p.m. at CUMC, 2375 East 3300 South, East Millcreek.
