Frank Earl Deu Pree, a retired employee of Georgia Pacific Corp., died Oct. 6, 1988 at St. Jospeh Hospital. He was 72.

Services were Oct. 8 at the Wellshire Presbyterian Church. Interment was at Crown Hill Cemetery.

Deu Pree was born July 29, 1916, in Colorado. He was a graduate of of East High School and the University of Colorado. He married Virginia Chapman Ward on June 20, 1942.

During World War II, he served with the 7th Cavalry Division and the 823rd Tank Destroyer Battalion. He was awarded the Bronze Star and attained the rank of Captain.

He was vice president of the House of Plywood and the Great Scott Lumber Company. He retired as a lumber manager for Georgia Pacific Corp. in Denver. He was president of the Old Timers Association, the Englewood Lions Club and the Optimist Club. He was a charter member of the First Presbyterian Church of Englewood, and he had been a member of the Wellshire Presbyterian Church since 1985.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Robert Earl, Springfield, OR, and Paul J., Redlands, CA; a daughter, Virginia Murphy, Haddam, CT; a sister, Bernice Baker, Denver; and six grandchildren.
