William George Thorpe is the son of Thomas Henry Thorpe, Sr., and Mary A. Curley.
William married Anna Mae Becker. William and Mary had two children:

William G. Thorpe, 67, of 281 Morgan St., South Hadley died Friday in the Holyoke Soldier`s Home.
He was born in this city, Feb. 28, 1893, son of the late Thomas and Mary (Curley) Thorpe, and was educated in the local schools.
A veteran of World War I, he served with the U. S. Army from Jan 8, 1913 until Nov. 11, 1919. He was employed at Woerner`s Newsroom until his retirement two years ago.
He was a member and past commander of the George G. Clarke Post 801, VFW, and of Tent No. 9, Cooties.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Anna May (Becker) Thorpe; a son, William H. of Willimansett; a daughter, Mrs. Albert J. Cardinal of South Hadley; two brothers, Edward and Harry Thorpe, and a sister, Mrs. Nellie Borlen, all of this city; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at the Lucier Funeral Home, South Hadley, Monday morning, followed by a solemn high mass of requiem in Blessed Sacrament Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are today, 7 to 10 p.m. and Sunday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 10.
