Frederick Emmons Chapin was a prominent lawyer in Washington and died there Wednesday of paralysis after an illness of two weeks. He was born in Livonia on December 7, 1860, the son of Captain Willard S. Chapin and Katherine Hart Chapin. He was descended from a signer of the Declaration of Independence, John Hart of New Jersey through his mother. He graduated from the George Washington University Law School in 1888. In addition to his family in Washington he leaves a sister, Mrs. Harry Dixson of Buffalo and a brother, Will Chapin of Portland, Oregon.
