Mrs. Bright was born Florence Leola Brown on April 7, 1924 in Leanna, Kansas, the daughter of Elmer & Pearl (Cassingham) Brown.
She married Earl W. Oliver, January 4, 1945 in Chanute, Kansas. He preceded her in death December 13, 1977. She later married Robert Bright, August 31, 1982 in Chanute. He preceded her in death 1998.
Mrs. Bright was a cook in the Chanute Schools for many years. She enjoyed Reading, sewing and loved to be with her two companions Dusty and Rex.
She was a member of the Elks and VFW Ladies Auxiliary both in Chanute, Kansas.
Survivors include, a daughter, Janice Weis and her husband Jerry of Kansas City, Missouri; a son, Phillip Oliver and his wife Patti of Lee's Summit, Missouri; one brother, Homer Brown of Apache Junction, Arizona; three grandchildren, Jeremy Weis and his wife Nicol of Overland Park, Kansas, Jason Weis of Kansas City, Missouri and Natalie Oliver of Overland Park, Kansas; one great grandson, Jacob Oliver. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 27, 2004 at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel in Chanute, Kansas with Reverend R.A. Pefley officiating.
Private inurnment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Chanute, Kansas.
Memorials may be made to American Heart Association and can be left at the mortuary.
