Her death record online for Alabama cites her death as 11 May 1908 in Walker County; the spelling of her surname was given as Spears. She and Richard had one other child, whose burial is not known; she was Laura Spear, who was born about 1908.
It appears that she and her husband spelled their surname Spears, with an "s"., but none of their children carried that on down and spelled it simply Spear.
