She was the eldest daughter of Nathaniel Bostwick and Esther Weller Hitchcock. She married Sherman Boardman, also of New Milford, in that town on Dec 3, 1755. They had 7 children: Daniel b. 1757; David b. 1758; Hon. Elijah b. 1760; Esther b. 1762; Hon. Homer b. 1764; Orinda b. 1767 and Hon. David Sherman Boardman b. 1768. Her portrait was done in 1796 in New Milford by artist Ralph Earl.
