Angelo Festa passed away Thursday in the Cape Regional Medical Center in Cape May Court House.

Born in Vineland to the late Anthony Joseph and Mary Ann (Tomasello) Festa he remained a life long resident.

He attended both Sacred Heart and Vineland High Schools where he played football.

Angelo retired from Vineland Electric Utility as supervisor of customer service after thirty three years. Angelo worked part time for Rone Funeral Service for several years. He was named Greater Vineland Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the year in 1994. Angelo retired as Fire Chief of Vineland Fire Co # 1 after more than forty three years as volunteer and remained an active member of the Cumberland County Fire Police.

He was a fifty four year member of the Knights of Columbus for Council 2531, Eldest Grand Knight from 1990 to 1993, Knights of Columbus Bishop John Carroll Assembly # 654, Eldest Faithful Navigator from 1981 to 1982 and appointed Color Corp Commander for many years.

Most of his adult life, Angelo volunteered for Midget Football League as President and Treasurer, the Boy Scouts and Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Tiny Tim Fund. He was a member of St. Isidores Parish as well as a member on the parish council. Angelo was member of VFW Post # 9112, the North Italy Club, American Legion, Sons of Italy, Sicilian American Club, Italian American Club, and an honorary life certified Knight of Columbus. He served as President of Bishop McCarthy Residents Auxiliary.

In May 2000, he was among forty nine recipients of the Chapel of Four Chaplains Legion of Honor Award and in March 2001, Angelo was awarded the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, Victory Medal, American Campaign Medal and European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal for his service in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He was survived by daughter, Karen Festa Kruse; two grandsons, brothers, Salvatore and Anthony and his wife Dotti Festa, and several nieces and nephews.

Angelo was predeceased by his wife, Norma (Hansen) in February of 2009 and son, Anthony Festa.

A Funeral Liturgy at St. Isidore The Farmer Church, 1655 Magnolia Road, Vineland. Entombment in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Vineland. Arrangements under the supervision of Rone Funeral Service, 1110 East Chestnut Avenue, Vineland.
