Elmer was the first of John and Fanny's children to move to Oklahoma City when it was still just a frontier town. He opened a restaurant and ultimately he served as a Republican councilman. When he died, his body was returned to Pennsylvania for interment. To my knowledge, Elmer never married. He died on June 12, 1913 and in his latter years, he and his unmarried sister had lived together. Elmer served as a Private in Company M, lst Regiment, in the Philippines in the Spanish-American War.
