BROTHER [FATHER] OF LOCAL WOMAN SUCCUMBS
Luther Hungerford Succumbs at Home in Rush County Following Long Illness
Luther Hungerford, 62, brother [father] of Mrs. Thomas Fair, of this city, died at his home in Rush county Tuesday night at 8:30 o'clock following several months' of illness of complications.
Mr. Hungerford, who was well known here, was born in Rush county in 1877 [1878], the son of Dayton and Pelina [Perlina Caroline] (Peck) Hungerford. He lived his entire life in the community in which he was born.
He was married to Katie [Catherine] Mull, who preceded him in death several years ago. Survivors besides Mrs. Fair are one son, Wesley, at home; three brothers, Dorsey, Calvin and Jessie Hungerford, all of Rush county, one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Ray, of Ordway, Colo., and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be announced later by Wyatt Funeral Directors, of Rushville.
