Unknown Newspaper - Obituary
Mrs. Thad Canida. At her home, 515 East Lincoln Street at 8:00 p. m. Saturday, September 2. Death came suddenly from apoplexy, though she had suffered several sinking spells and apparently realized the end was near as she remarked shortly before her death that she would not be long among the living. Her health had been bad for two years.
Susie Idabel Harrison, daughter of Kentucky forbears, was born January 28, 1869 in Kansas, just before her parents, who were enroute to MO, crossed the line. Her people settled at Waverly, Mo., Lafayette County.
Miss Harrison and Thad Canida, a knife maker, were married in Marshall, MO., October 21, 1887, and for some 30 years lived in various MO towns and a few in Kansas.
Fifteen years ago they came to Clinton to live and the children attended the Baptist Sunday School, though the parents were converted in the Church of God.
Mrs. Canida was a quiet woman, devoted to her children, and enjoyed making quilts and sewing.

She is survived by her husband, and two of their seven children, Mrs. Nellie Ancell of Moberly and Miss Elsie Canida of Chicago, where she is auditor in a shoe factory, who were here for the funeral.
The funeral was conducted by Rev. A. S. Olsen at the Wilkinson Funeral Home at 9:30 a. m. Tuesday and the body was laid to rest in Englewood."
