J T Spencer Funeral Held
Funeral services were held at 2 pm, Tuesday, Nov 11, from the Houston Funeral Home Chapel for John Thomas Spencer, 75, who died at 12:45 am Nov 10, at Hillcrest Hospital.
He was a retired farmer and a resident of Vardaman.
The Revs. W F Clark, Ben Goodwin, and Fred Hartley officiated at the services. Interment was in the Chickasaw Memorial Gardens.
A native of Calhoun county and a veteran of World War I, he was the son of Thomas Lee Spencer and Susan Ann Yeager Spencer. He was a member of Prospect Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Elma B Spencer of Vardaman; one son, Curtis Spencer of Houston; two daughters, Mrs. Grace Clark of West Point and Mrs. Anna Lois Byars, Vardaman. Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Bessie Long of Houston; Mrs. Emma Duncan of Houston, and Mrs. Inez Lafayette of Calhoun City. Seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren also survive.
