Genevieve M. is the daughter of Charles Edward Bishop and Mary Jane Doyle. Her birth name was Mary Jane Bujold. The surname was changed when her parents came to the United States.

Genevieve married George Watson Skyes (1865-1934).

MRS. GENEVIEVE M. SYKES
Mrs. Genevieve M. Sykes, 58, for the 36 years a resident of Vancouver and vicinity, died at the St. Joseph`s hospital last night following more than a year`s falling health. She had been a patient at the hospital for the past three months.
A native of Saginaw, Mich., Mrs. Skykes lived there most of her younger life, moving to Minneaopolis, following her marriage to George W. Sykes in `89` in Tomahawk, Wis. After living in Minneapolis for five years the Skykes` moved to Vancouver, and have since lived here.
A member of the St. James Catholic church, Mrs. Sykes was also acting adjutant of the G.A.R. of Vancouver, a member of the Ellsworth Relief Corps, No. 8, of the American Legion auxillary, Smith Reynolds unit, No. 14, Evergreen chapter, No. 1, American War Mothers, Margaret Woolf auxillary, No. 6, United Spanish War Veterans, Yeoman`s lodge, Riverview Mother`s club and the Riverville grange.
Among the survivors are the husband, George W. Sykes of Ellsworth; two sons, Walter G. Sykes of Vancouver and Duane N. Sykes of Portland; three daughters, Mrs. Ruth Dolan, Mrs. Lucille Yost and Mrs. Winnifred (sic) Hill all of this city; eleven grandchildren; her mother, Mrs. Mary Bishop of Los Angeles; and two sisters, Mrs. S. M. Ilec in Los Angeles, and Mrs. J. J. Nick, Jr., of Tomahawk, Wis.
Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 9:30 o`clock in St. James Catholic church, the Rev. John Egan officiating. Interment will be in the family plot at Park Hill. The body will be at Hamilton`s chapel until just prior to the service.
