Sallie was daughter of John Perry Faris, a Presbyterian
minister, wife's name not listed. Sallie is believed to be born in 1869, place unbknown.
She married William Filmore Murchison on October 20, 1887 at age 18, by her father.

She and Wm. had nine children;
William Alton, Carnie Lue, Mary Mada, Johnnie Franklin, Herman Chilton, Eva Gene, Mayo Filmore and George Spencer. * There is only eight children listed. Do not know about the ninth child.
Sallie died May 24, 1923 at the age of 54 and 5 months.
They moved to Percilla in 1890 four miles north from Murchison Creek where they had lived.
They then moved to Grapeland in 1890. William purchased a two story eleven room house, which was inherited by one of their daughters Mada Murchison Davis who married Olan W. Davis. The home burned on March 17, 1946 and Mada and Olan donated a portion of their land in memory of William Filmore and Sallie Spencer Faris Murchison for the Community Memorial Hospital. Four of their children still live on the property.
