Bonnie Tussey Johnson, 96, of East Bernstadt, passed away Monday, Oct. 12, 2009, at Compassionate Care Center in Richmond.
She was born Feb. 23, 1913, in Jackson County, the daughter of Isaac Jackson Tussey and Belle Allen Tussey. She was homemaker and member of Olive Gilead Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Clay Johnson; and siblings, Herbert Tussey, Gertrude Damron, Lola Angel, Bennie Cunagin and Maudie Tussey.
She is survived by a son, James Monroe (Norma) Johnson of Science Hill; daughters, Violet Ann (Jack) Farmer of Berea, Joan (Paul) Coyle of Waco, Ky., Joy Ruth (Conrad) Johnson of East Bernstadt, and Trudy Elaine (C.R.) Lincks of Berea; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be at 6 p.m. today, Oct. 14, 2009, at Bowling Funeral Home. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, 2009, at Bowling Funeral Home Chapel, with Paul Ellis and Denny McCowan officiating. Interment will be at J.C. Johnson Family Cemetery in East Bernstadt.
Pallbearers will be Mike Farmer, Joey Howard, Mark Howard, Quentin Elam, George Parrett, David Hall, Charlie Wyatt, David Sayer and Jacob Johnson.
