Former Wampum resident Leona Altman, 85, of Mount View Heights Manor, Penn Run, Pa., died Thursday, March 25, 2004, in Indiana Hospital, Indiana, Pa., following a lengthy illness.
She was born on Nov. 23, 1918, in Armstrong County, a daughter of the late Quickley Bowser and the late Mary Olive Cousins Bowser.
She was married to the late Mont Altman. He died in 1977.
Mrs. Altman was Methodist.
Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Glenda Altman of Wampum, Richard and Virginia Altman of Enon Valley, and Gary and Marilyn Altman of Cabot, Pa.; a daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Donald Beggs of Butler; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
The last of her family, she was preceded in death by five sisters and three brothers.
Visitation is 4 to 5 p.m. tomorrow at the Marshall Funeral Home, 341 Main St., Wampum. A private service will be conducted at 5 p.m. tomorrow at the funeral home. Burial will be in Clinton Cemetery.
