Wife of Louis Edward Skidgel.

Louise M. Skidgel, 70, of Augusta, passed away Thursday, March 30, 2006, at the Maine General Medical Center in Augusta. She was born in Augusta on September 24, 1935, one of 17 children of Clarence and Bertha York.

Louise was a very loving and caring woman.

She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and her hobbies included arts and crafts.

She was predeceased by her parents, her brothers and sisters, Ida Mae Dubriel and husband Henry; Archie York and his wife, Hazel; Beatrice Davis and husband Carlton; and Edward, Stanley, Robert, Preston, Dorothy and Russell York.

She is survived by four children, seven brothers and sisters, five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A special thank-you to Julie and John and the Strout family for being there.

Committal services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 5, in the old Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Civic Center Drive, Augusta.

Arrangements are under the care of Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Ave., Gardiner. (Kennebec Journal 4/1/2006)
