Delbert Oscar Cannon, 74, of Bengal, Oklahoma., passed away Sunday, September 27th, 2009 at Eastern Oklahoma Medical Center, Poteau, Oklahoma. Delbert was born in Bengal, Oklahoma on August 2, 1935, the son of the late George and Dorothy (Cogburn) Cannon. He worked as a carpenter before moving back to this area at which time he began ranching and working as a logger and truck driver, he also served in the U.S. Army for 2 years. He was the husband of Wilma Cannon. They were married October 4, 1964 in Reno, Nevada He was preceded in death by his parents, brother; Benny Cannon. Delbert is survived by his wife, Wilma of the home, daughters; TonyaThomas, Renee and Nathan Robinson , son; Delbert Oscar, Jr and Linda Cannon and Mark Ray Cannon all of Bengal, sister; Margaret Hamner of Poteau, Oklahoma, brother; Jimmy Cannon of McAlester, Oklahoma. Grandchildren; Jason Thomas, Jennifer Brown, Weldon Thomas, Brittney Cannon,Kalla Hollan, Amanda Cannon, Waylon Cannon, Kaylee Cannon, Amber Robinson and Ashley Robinson,and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends Graveside services will be held at the Cannon Family Cemetery, Bengal, Oklahoma at 10 a.m., Wednesday, September 30, 2009. Johnny Holibird will be officiating. Interment will be under the direction of Talihina Funeral Home.
