OAK GROVE, LA - Funeral services for Mrs. Lois L. Calvert, age 88, of Oak Grove, Louisiana will be held at 10AM on Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at Goodwill Baptist Church in Goodwill, Louisiana.
Reverends Jimmie Herring and Jimbo Herring will officiate.
Burial will follow in the New Forest Cemetery in Forest, Louisiana.
Services are under the direction of Cox Funeral Home of Oak Grove, Louisiana.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John Hudson Calvert; her parents, Charley James Hood and Althea Martin Hood; 3 brothers, Clarence Hood, Merle Hood, and Charley Hood; 3 sisters, Jessie Schoolfield, Flora Reems, and Geneva Watson.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Charley Mack "Chuck" Calvert and Lou Ann Calvert of Oak Grove; grandson and his wife, Mack and Karen Calvert of Port Orange, Florida; granddaughter, Dvawn Hurd of Swartz, Louisiana.
She is survived by her great grandchildren: Joshua Hurd of Lake Charles, Louisiana; John Hurd of Swartz; Sherry Hurd of Swartz; Douglas Hurd of Swartz; Richard Hurd of Swartz; Kortney Calvert of Port Orange, Florida, and Lacey Moore of Owensboro, Kentucky.
She is survived by her sister, Dallie Allen Walcott of Howell, Michigan and 3 sisters-in-law, Bea Calvert of Holland Michigan; Nayrene Sanders of Monette, Arkansas; and Maudine Beaton of Paris, Texas.
Pallbearers are: Olen Haynes, Ted Benton, Jimmy Lay, Menko Thompson, Cecil Ratliff, Kevin Tubbs, John Hurd, and Joshua Hurd.
Honorary Pallbearers are her great grandchildren.
