Funeral services for the late Chas. E. Miller were held at the M. E. church at Kennard Monday at 2 p.m. Interment at the Arlington cemetery followed. Chas. E. Miller was born in Jefferson City, Iowa January 3, 1876 and passed away at 4 p.m. Friday at the Methodist hospital in Omaha following an operation of two days before. He conducted a shoe repair shop here for the past four years and was at his shop until he went to the hospital three weeks ago. He lived in Arlington several years prior to coming here. He is survived by his wife, two sons, Earl in Arkansas, and Leonard at home; two daughters, Eva and Dorothy at home; a sister and brother in Indiana.

Kennard folks were greatly shocked Friday evening to learn of the death of Chas. Miller at a hospital in Omaha at 4:00 p.m. that day. He had undergone a severe operation on Thursday and was apparently improving until death claimed him. Mr. Miller came here from Arlington about five years ago, and has conducted a shoe repairing shop here before going to the hospital on Sunday, two weeks before his death. His bereaved family have the sympathy of the entire community. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, interment being made at the Arlington cemetery.
