Born Dec. 22, 1936 in Center, he was a son of the late Frank A. and Kathryn J. (Dysinger) Yetter. His wife, Betty L. (Hackett) Yetter whom he married April 12, 1960, died May 13, 2007.
He is survived by five children, Teresa A. and husband, Rick O'Neal, Jacquelyn K. and husband, Ronald Minium, Randolph S. Yetter, Jeffery A. Yetter and companion, Tina Stahle, all of Thompsontown, and Sara J. Ritter of Port Royal, eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Also surviving are four sisters and one brother, Violet Bollen of New Cumberland, Arlene Wirt of Maryland, Kathleen Fraley of Harrisburg, Fae Ruth Snyder of Camp Hill, and Albert Yetter of Mifflin.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister, Walter "Pete" Yetter, James "Jim" Yetter, Ray "Shorty" Yetter, and Mae Grissinger.
Dick graduated from Juniata Joint High School in 1956 and worked as a psychiatric aide at Harrisburg State Hospital for more than 30 years.
He was a faithful member and on the current council of Centre Lutheran Church, a member of Walker Grange and a driver for the blood mobile for a number of years.
He enjoyed hunting, bird watching, word search puzzles, always lending a helping hand when and where needed and spending time with his family and friends.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 15 at Centre Lutheran Church with the Rev. James Park Bricker officiating. Interment will be in Adams Cemetery, Mifflintown.
