William E. Kirkland, a former resident of Grayson, died Saturday in a Greenwell Springs Hospital following an illness of about eight months. He was 79.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Riser and Son Funeral Home of Columbia.
The Rev. Robert Sweeney was in charge of the services.
Interment was made in tol Hhicket [sic] Road.
Survivors include a son, Woodrow Kirkland of Pineville and a daughter, Mrs. Gladys Lay of Lake Charles. A brother, E. R. Kirkland of Grayson died a short time ago.
