Robert T Reid was born in Coalville, Iowa, the sixth of seven brothers and one sister. He lived most of his life in Clayworks, Iowa working in the brick yard owned by his father-in-law. His wife was Jennie C Johnston who bore Marie E, John J, Yula E, and Gale. After his death his wife and some of his children moved to the Portland, Oregon area where Jennie died in 1959. She is buried in the Finley-Sunset Hills Memorial Park. His headstone has never been located.
