Obituary:
Mrs. Minnie Barber, wife of Hiram Barber, died April 11, 1962, at the home of her stepdaughter, Mrs. W. C. (Edna) Cottrell in Lexington, after a long illness. She was a native of Scott County, born in 1881 to John T. and Sarah Bradley James. She was a long time member of Long Lick Baptist Chuurch. Survivors include a daughter, Atha Pettit Manley, Midway; two granddaughters, Maxine Curtis Vance of Georgetown, and Frieda Curtis Wheatley of Louisville; two great grandchildren, Billy Vance and Deborah Wheatley. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at the Cassity Funeral Home by Rev. Orlie Hale. Burial will be in the Stamping Ground Masonic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Omer Marshall, Brown Cottrell, Buford Fugett, Armond Breen, Emory Michael, and Everett Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be J.D. Secrest, Orby Kidwell, B.B. Stone, Bill Bradley, Charles Stevens, Renza Barber, John Hall, and W.J. Hillard.
