Lee Shaffer Dead
Lee Shaffer, the youngest son of Wm. Shaffer, who formerly lived here, died at Sandborn last Friday evening, from blood poisoning. On Friday, Oct. 31, he was shaved in a Sandborn barber shop and a male sore, that was on his face at the time, was cut. Blood poisoning set in and despite all that medical skill could do, the young man was dead within a week.
He was about 26 years old and graduated in the spring of this year from a Louisville medical college. He came to Sandborn to begin work as a practitioner and had a bright future before him.
The remains were brought to the Indian Prairie cemetery last Sunday morning and buried there about 12 o'clock. The services were in charge of the Sandborn Ben Hur lodge, of which the deceased was a member. Rev. A. L. Tidrick also assisted in the ceremonies at the grave.
