Funeral services for Edward N. Pickering, 79, of Wisner were held Friday
at South Central Baptist Church with the Rev. James Brown, the Rev. Milton
Williams and the Rev. Stanley Thrift officiating.
Interment followed at the church cemetery under the direction of Community
Memorial Funeral Home of Winnsboro.
Mr. Pickering died Wednesday, August 9, 2000 at his residence after an
extended illness. He was a resident of Franklin Parish, retired farmer, member
of Holly Grove Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge. He is preceded in death
by his wife, Juanita D. Pickering, two grandchildren, Heather Bingham and Jim
Seth Berry.
Survivors include his children, Claudine and Jimmy Prather of Gilbert; Gene and
Melba Pickering, Linda and Donny Williams, Lori and Marty Roberts, Emily and
J.D. Wilson, Jimmy and Sue Pickering all of Wisner; brothers and sisters-in-law,
James and Eula Pikering, R.B. and Jean Pickering all of West Monroe; 12 grand-
children, 14 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Dave Henry, Dennis Berry, Don Ferrington, Sam Roberts, Johnny
Juneau and George Jones.
Honorary pallbearer was Heath Roberts.
