Walter F. Schultz, 77, of Brainerd, passed away Sunday, Sept. 21, 2008, at St. Cloud Hospital.
He was born on Sept. 7, 1931, in Brainerd to Fred and Marion (Allston) Schultz. He was married to Elva Ostrom on July 31, 1954, at Temple Baptist Church in Brainerd. Walt was a lifelong farmer and was also involved in many other things including treasurer for the Oak Lawn Township, Realtor for Positive Realty and owned Walter Schultz Insurance Agency. He loved the outdoors, including hunting and fishing.
Survived by his wife, Elva Schultz; children, Roger (Ann) Schultz, Kathy (Dane) Deutsch, Tony (Gail) Schultz; siblings, Evelyn Piersall, Newburg, Ore., Dale (Barbara) Schultz, Cocolalla, Idaho, Marlyss (Lonnie) Voss, Milaca, Minn., Carol (Verne) Anderson, Isanti, Minn., Larry (Pat) Schultz, Raymore, Mo., Diane (Duane) Shutt, St. Michael, Minn.; 17 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Walt was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Lorraine Schultz.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 27, 2008, at Faith Baptist Church in Brainerd with Pastor Harold Erickson officiating. Friends may call on Friday, Sept. 26, from 6-8 p.m. at Halvorson-Johnson Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Interment will be at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Brainerd.
