At a young age of 52, Gail Hatch joined her Heavenly Father on Oct. 3 after a brave battle with ALS. Gail was born in Casper, Wyo. to Floyd and Marlene Holfeltz on July 25, 1957.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Hatch; her parents Floyd and Marlene; her brothers Terry and Mike Holfeltz; her sisters Norma Nuttall and Cristie Munford; her children Derik and Abby Winkler, Marlana and Ben Todd, Jared and Tina Winkler; step children Carlina and Matt Bertoch, Trenton Hatch, Robyn and Shad Thayne,;and 13 grand children.
She graduated from Uintah high school class of '76, where her appreciation for music grew through her clarinet playing, eventually leading to her learning to play the banjo. She passed down her love and enjoyment for music to her children who traveled the country sharing her passion for musical melodies with all who would listen.
She sought out the unique things in life whether it was cruising on her heritage soft tail Harley or scouring the bookcliffs in her jeep. She spent many years roaming the hills hunting, camping, rock hunting, waterskiing scuba diving with her friends, family and loved ones. She challenged herself to try the extraordinary but appreciate the simple beauty of the leaves changing in the fall, the cactus on the side of a hill, or even the ordinary rock most people would over look.
She was passionate about many things in life but by far, was most proud of being a devoted mother. She spent numerous years and hundreds of miles in her car carting her children to many different extra curricular activities, she loved it. Gail enjoyed interaction with others and was very active in the community. To name a few of her selfless acts, Gail served many years as a search and rescue diver, young woman's director, den mother, primary teacher, PTA member, and on the rodeo committee.
She will be missed dearly by all that had the privilege to know her.
