Word was received this morning from Purcell, by relatives that Reuben A. Houghton had died of throat trouble. The deceased will be brought here tomorrow for burial. Mr. Houghton was one of the pioneer citizens of Arkansas City, removing to Purcell a few years ago. He had a large acquaintance and many friends and several relatives here. He leaves a wife and three children to mourn his death, and to them we extend our sincere sympathy. The remains will be taken directly from the train to the cemetery. The funeral will be under the direction of Crescent lodge, A.F. & A.M. of which lodge Mr. Houghton was an honored member.
