Mrs. Minnie Littlefield, 74, widow of the late Uncle Jim Littlefield, 108 West Lee, died in a local hospital Thursday night after a long illness.
She was born in Parker County Feb. 11, 1876, the daughter of Jasper and Ellen Clark, pioneers of the County. She married J. M. Littlefield Aug. 2, 1892 and nine children were born to this union, six of whom survive. Mr. Littlefield died five years ago.
Mrs. Littlefield had been a member of the Baptist Church since a girl maintaining membership at the Soda Springs Baptist Church. She lived in Soda Springs up until six years ago when she came to live with her daughter, Mrs. Buster Speight.
Survivors include three sons, P. R. Littlefield, Carthage; Onis Littlefield, Ranger; Ed Littlefield, Odessa; three daughters, Mrs. Buster Speight, Weatherford; Mrs. Leon Baker, Millsap; Mrs. Lelia Moore, Mineral Wells; nine grandchildren, two great-grand children; three brothers, Tommy Clark, Glen Rose; Barney Clark, Millsap; Murphy Clark, Long Beach, Calif.; three sisters, Mrs. Ida Chastain, Santo; Mrs. Maggie Simpson, Jacksboro; and Mrs. Zelma Ashley, Mineral Wells.
Funeral services were held Saturday at the Soda Springs Baptist Church with Rev. T. C. Norris assisted by Rev. H. J. Starnes and Rev. Fred Puryear officiating. Burial was in Soda Springs.
Pall bearers were Jarvis Littlefield, Jack Littlefield, Arville Ashley, Emmett Chastain, Murphy Simpson and Ceph Clark.
