Mary Lee Oma Mattingly. Her nickname was Mutt. Given to her by her brother Alver Crowe many years ago. She was a daughter of William Martin Crowe and Nona Mae Williams, born in Sylacauga, Alabama and gave birth to six children. I am her eldest son and she died in Franklin County, Virginia while living with my two sons and I. We miss her greatly for she was more than mother and grandmother; she was a friend as well. We enjoyed having her with us.

Mom was married to Herman Hanson Mattingly who is buried in the Gideons Cemetery near Bay Minette, Alabama. Was a housewife until her second divorce from Herman in 1954. Worked at the St. Regis (now Champion) Paper Mill in Cantonement, Florida for 28 years and retired. A dedicated mother and friend. She gave us love, comfort and a shoulder to cry on when needed. She never complained of her lot in life although it was a hard one at times. In 1987, she suffered a stroke and left her home in Florida and remained with her eldest son in Franklin County, Virginia until her death in 1996. Her remains were returned to Pensacola for burial.
Actually married Herman twice. Couple divorced around 1944 and re-married on 12-17-1945.
Information for bio from William Bobby 'Matt' Mattingly, her oldest son.
