Dicie Pearl Fauver Newell

Dicie Pearl Fauver Newell, age 91, of Ashville, Ohio, born September 7, 1917 at Mt. Alto, WV, to the late James F. and Hester Fauver, passed away October 25, 2008. She was the ninth child of a family of two boys and ten girls.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd of 73 years on October 11, 2008, an infant daughter and two brothers and six sisters.

She is survived by her daughters, Carolyn (Earl) Spears of Lithopolis and Joyce (Richard) Scarberry of Columbus; sons, Floyd Fredrick and Lloyd (Barbara), all of Ashville, James (Sandy) of Rushville and Stephen (Pam) of Mt. Alto, WV; 11 grandchildren; numerous great and great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Freda Burdette, Lydia Durst, Maxine Thomas, all of WV.

Pearl was given timeless and loving care by Carolyn and Joyce in her last years. Pearl will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. She loved to fish, camp and travel.

Friends may call at the O. R. Woodyard Co. Chapel, 1346 S. High St., Wednesday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.

The funeral service will be held Thursday at 1 p.m at the Creston United Methodist Church, Leon, WV. Reverend Herman Jordan officiating. Interment Creston Cemetery, Leon, WV.
