Silas Kyle is the grandson of James Sims (1755-1818) and Sarah (Hullinger, Somers) (1760-1806). The locations of their graves is not known at this time.
Four of the five of James' sons (John, William, James Jr. & Joseph) moved to Clark, Champaign and Miami Co. OH from 1810 to 1830, while Silas remained on the home place in Pendleton (now Highland) Co, VA, where he died after 1845.
No specific burial place for Silas is known.

Silas Kyle was born and partially raised in Pendleton Co, VA. He was partially raised, married, and fathered his 10 children in Highland Co, VA. But, they had not moved! The Pendleton Co, VA property the Sims family lived on became part of Highland Co, VA in 1847 when county and state boundaries were adjusted due to increasing population.
Silas Kyle moved from Highland Co, VA to Coles Co, IL with his wife and 9 of his 10 children in 1887.
One daughter, Ida May Sims remained, settling in Pendleton Co, VA just north of the VA/WV state line after marrying Eli Bodkin in 1886.
