LONGTIME RESIDENT DIES Thomas Bull, 85, longtime Palo Alto County resident, died Wednesday at the Emmetsburg hospital. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday at Ellsworth-Beiter Funeral Home in Emmetsburg with the Rev. Edward Maus, pastor of the Ayrshire Methodist Church, officiating. Burial was in Rush Lake cemetery near Curlew. Pallbearers were Elmer Ducommun and Vern Lyon of Laurens, and Donald Hurley, Hans Jensen, Joe Wilson and Frank Gaddis of Curlew. Mr. Bull was born May 21, 1874 at Pleasantville and on Sept. 14, 1899 he was married to Alta Gifford at Knoxville. Mrs. Bull and a son, George, died in 1944. Survivors include a son, Clarence Bull, of Ayrshire; three daughters, Blanche, at home, Mrs. Jessie Root of Addison, N.Y.; and Mrs. Gladys Reining of Denver, Colo.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
