Obituary---Ubbe (Robert) Bruning

Ubbe Bruning, son of Gerhard and Marianna Bruning was born November 5, 1874 near Milford, Ne. He came to Thayer county, Nebraska in 1884 with his parents.

In 1905, he was united in marriage with Miss Ella Dierks. Their wedlock was blessed with two sons and two daughters.

For the last nine years of his life he was afflicted with a malady which not only confined him to bed, but brought on total blindness and made him wholly dependent on those around him. It was in these days particularly that he learned to lean on God and to find comfort in God's promises.

It pleased God to call him hence from his home in Belvidere on June 9, 1940 at the age of 65 years, 7 months and 4 days.

The immediate mourners are his wife; his sons, Melvin of Twin Falls, Idaho, and Virgil of Rulo, Nebr.; his daughters, Mrs. Roberta DeLong of Belvidere, Nebr., and Mrs. Luella Brauer of Twin Falls, Idaho; his brothers, George of Ohiowa, Nebr., and Adolph of Alexandria, Nebr.; his sister, Mrs. Marianna Apking of Hebron.

Three brothers and three sisters have preceded him in the realms of eternity.
Funeral services were held at the Bruning Mortuary and at Trinity Lutheran Church. Interment was in the Bruning Public Cemetery.
