Mrs. Lula Medlin, 67, resident of Caruthersville for many years, died last Wednesday, September 12, at Pemiscot County Memorial Hospital and funeral services were held the following Friday afternoon at the Assembly of God Church.
The Rev. T.E. Jackson, assisted by Rev. Idamae Keeton of Memphis officiated and burial was in Maple cemetery, with H.S. Smith Funeral Home service.
Mrs. Medlin was born at Sikeston on August 9, 1895, the daughter of Thomas and Mary Katherine Rogers and spent her early life in and near Sikeston. In Blytheville in November of 1924, she was married to Elmer Homer Medlin and the family have made their home in this city since.
She was a member of the Assembly of God Church, teaching classes in the beginners department of the Sunday school for about four years and in the junior department for 12 years.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Belle Clay, of St. Louis; a brother, T.H. Rogers of Benton, Ky.; a sister, Mrs. Ida Davis, of Flint, Mich.; nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
One son, Dallas Hiller, passed away on March 16, 1958.
