DIED, In Goshen, on the 29th Sept., Col. Moses Lyman, aged 87 years. He was a patriot and soldier of the revolution, and in all the various offices of life, where duty pointed, he dared to go. The memory of his virtues is a rich legacy for his children.

MISS ALICE BLATCHFORD COLLINS. 17626 Born in Hartford, Connecticut. Descendant of Col. Moses Lyman, of Connecticut. Daughter of Morris Collins and Martha Wickes Blatchford, his wife. Granddaughter of Hon. Amos Morris Collins and Mary Lyman, his .wife. Gr.-granddaughter of Moses Lyman and Mary Buel, his wife (d. 1835). Moses Lyman, (1743-1829), rose from corporal to colonel. He commanded a body of troops at the surrender of Burgroyne and was selected by Gates to convey the good news to Washington. He was commander of the guard when Andre was in prison. He was born in Goshen, Conn., where he died.
