Laura Valery Converse Cole - A native of Port Arthur, TX and a lifelong resident of Mobile, died Monday, April 20, 2009, in a local hospital. She was a graduate of Murphy High School and attended Mary Washington University. Mrs. Cole was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, the Junior League of Mobile, and a local mystic society. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Herbert P. Cole, Jr. Survivors include four children, Herbert P. Cole, III, Brandly C. (Patricia) Cole, Laura Cole (Scott) Menard, and Roger E. (Rosemary) Cole; ten grandchildren, Katherine C. Vance, Matthew E. Cole, John David Cole, Mark H. Cole, Joseph R. Cole, Sarah E. Cole, Jessica M. Brown, Valery C. Menard, Laura Rose Cole, and Rebecca B. Cole; other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of St. Paul's Episcopal Church on Thursday, April 23, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends in the church parish hall from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery. In lieu of , memorial donations may be made to Wilmer Hall Children's Home, 3811 Old Shell Rd., Mobile, AL 36608.
