|Richard McAliley, Jr|
|Death: ||Oct. 15, 1863|
Richard McAliley "Jr." is the son of Richard McAliley and Mary "Polly" Yongue. He was born during a time that the family was possibly living in Giles Co., Tennessee.
Richard McAliley and Nancy McKeown were married 1833 in Gibson Co., Texas. Both had grown up in families that migrated from South Carolina, later settling in Gibson Co., Tennessee.
They were landowners and farmed in Gibson Co. until their deaths. The couple had a family of six known sons: Hiram, Leroy, John, Green, Hugh, and Richard.
Youngest son Richards was born about 1849, and it appears passed away prior to 1860 (not shown in that census). No specifics are yet known about his life or death.
Nancy passed away in 1854, and Richard married Ann McLean in 1856. They became parents of three children prior to his death: James, Otho, and Mary.
Son Leroy attended Bluff Springs Academey until the war began; he was 1st Lt. of a company of militia during the early part of the Civil War.
Sons Hiram, Green, and John served the CSA during the Civil War. All three died while in service.
No specific death records or graves have been located for Nancy or Richard; as active members of the Concord Cumberland Presbyterian Church it is possible they are buried in that cemetery in unmarked graves.
