JANIS LEAKE TYE, age 73, of Corbin, Kentucky passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2009 at BRMC.
She was born on October 13, 1935 in Corbin, Kentucky to the late Rober L. Leake and Maude Tuggle Leake Clouse. A sister, Wanda Smith, and her stepfather, John Cluse, also predeceased her.
Janis was a retired City Collector for the City of Corbin.
She belonged to the First Baptist church and was a former member of the B&PW Club.
Survivors are her husband, Charles E. Tye; three children, Bridgett Storms, Bryan Tye and Lisa Beth Kretzer (Blane), all of Corbin, Kentucky; four dear grandchildren, Jessica Mason (Brian), Karolyn Marie Tye, Steven Charles Noe and Cameron Joseph Kretzer; and three cousins, Janet Pace and Sandy Allen of Corbin and LInda Wilson of Somerset, Kentucky.
Visitation was from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Tuesday at the O'Neil Funeral Home.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday at the O'Neil Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Bobby Joe Eaton, the Reverend Jabe Smith, the Reverend Robert Kretzer and the Reverend Gary Tye officiating.
Burial followed in the Pine Hill Cemetery.
