Ruth Jessie Allison, 89, of the Thompson Valley area of Tazewell, died June 2 at Heritage Hall Health Care in Tazewell. Born at Hansonville, she was a daughter of the late Andrew Frazier Harrison & Nancy Ann Dye Harrison. She was a member of the Pisgah United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Allison; five sisters, Anna Scott, Jennie Cumbow, Ollie Harrison, Louellen Kimberlin and Minnie Litton; and four brothers, Gilbert Harrison, Amos Harrison, Oakley Harrison and Hatler Harrison. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Survivors are sons, Nathan Allison, Perry Allison, Gerald Allison and Gary Allison, all of Tazewell, Joseph Allison of Richmond, Ralph Allison of Springville; 19 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted June 5 at 11 a.m. at Peery & St.Clair Funeral Home Chapel in Tazewell with the Rev. Robert E. Cook officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, VA.
