Claude R. Williams, 87 of 10 S. Minnequa Ave., Canton died Sunday, Sept. 6, 1981 at the Arnot-Ogden Memorial Hospital in Elmira. A retired farmer, Mr. Williams was born in Elmira, N.Y. on June 4, 1894. The son of Raleigh and Fannie Mitstifer Williams, he was a member of the Canton Ecumenical Parish and was a member of the Canton Odd Fellows Lodge No. 321 for more than 60 years.

Survivors include his wife, the former Elizabeth Harris; two daughters, Mrs. Douglas (Cynthia) Packard, Breeseport, N.Y. and Mrs. Mary Esaias, Troy; two sons, Claude J. Williams, Canton RD 1 and Ola R. Williams, Horseheads, N.Y.; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two step-daughters, Mrs. Eichard (Mary Lou) Hackett, Everett, Wash. and Mrs. Norman (Clara) Bellinger, Elmira; a step-son, Rodney Harris Jr., Horseheads; seven step-grandchildren; five great-step-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral and committal services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Morse-Kleese Funeral Home, Canton with the Rev. Jasper Smith, pastor of the Ward United Methodist Church presiding. Burial will be in Grover Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. A memorial service by the Canton Odd Fellows Lodge No. 321 will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
