Frieda Albers Thomazin was born at Platte Center, Nebr., on July 28, 1886, and departed this life March 27, 1951, at 4:20 p.m. at her home in Genoa following a lingering illness of almost three years. At the time of her death she was 64 years, 7 months and 29 days of age.
She was united in marriage to Thomas R. Thomazin of Monroe on October 23, 1907, at Albion, Nebr., and to this union three daughters and two sons were born.
Quiet and unassuming, Mrs. Thomazin exemplified the life of a faithful homemaker, content in caring for her household duties and her family as her chief interest in life.
Mrs. Thomazin is survived by her husband; three daughters, Mildred (Mrs. Martin Werts), Lola (Mrs. Waldo Iverson), both of St. Edward, and Cleo (Mrs. Elton Potter) of Monroe; two sons, Wilber and Glenn, both living near St. Edward; fourteen grandchildren; six sisters, Mrs. Frank Boltz of Fremont, Mrs. Ed Ericson of Genoa, Mrs. W.E. Lloyd of Lindsay, Mrs. Dave Parry of Monroe, Mrs. Owen Parry of Monroe, Mrs. William Blesson of Platte Center; three brothers, Henry and Walter of Costa Mesa, California, and William of Fremont. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, John.
Funeral services were held from the Genoa Methodist church at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 30. Rev. Fortune, pastor of the church, officiated. His scripture reading was Psalm 121 and Proverbs 31: 25-28. He spoke on "The Glory of Motherhood." A quartette, composed of Gene Fortune, Archie Campbell, Clifford Peterson and Lawrence Pearson, sang "Beyond the Sunset," and "Safe in the Arms of Jesus." Mrs. Arvid Johnson accompanied at the piano. Interment was made in Valley View cemetery. Pallbearers were Ed Ericson, W.E. Lloyd, William Albers, Dave Parry, William Blesson and Raymond Boltz.
Relatives from Iowa, Kansas, Illinois, Omaha, Fremont, Columbus, Chambers, Monroe, Lindsay, Platte Center, St. Edward, Shelby and Albion, attended the services.
