Funeral services for Ebert Randolph (Doc) Stone, 60, who died March 18, 1976, at the Pemiscot County Medical Center, were held March 20, 1976 at the First Baptist Church of Caruthersville. Rev. Ira Singleton officiated with interment in the Little Prairie Cemetery with the Dean Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Stone was born July 4, 1915 in Minnons, Ark., to David Thomas and Eodie Bell Fredrick Stone. He was married to Rose Mary Clark, he served as chief of police for the city for six and a half years and was a member ot the police department for 14 years, and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Caruthersville.
Survivors include his wife, Rose Mary Stone, a daughter Janice Stone of the home. Three sons, Clark and Robert Stone of Nashville, Tenn., and Ralph Stone of Caruthersville. One sister, Mrs. Olive Sells of Kennett, Mo., two brothers, Willard Stone of Kennett, Mo., Thomas Stone of LaPorte, Ind., and nine grandchildren.
Pallbearers were: Charles Morgan, Jesse Johnson, John Yerby, Sam Young, Marvin Dye and Pat Malone, all fellow policeman.
Honorary pallbearers were the city officials: Mayor B.F (Hot) Rogers, Dee Barnes, Woodrow Johnson, Bruce Cheek, Jim Jeffress, Cecil Book, Jethro Bizzell, James Carter and Josephine VanCleve.
