Virginia R. Ferguson, 83, of Littleton, CO, formerly of Salt Lake City and Roosevelt, UT, died Friday, April 25th at the Living Care Center of Littleton.
She was born Virginia Ruth Martin on September 30, 1919 in Waukon, IA. On August 15, 1946 she married Mathew Armstrong Ferguson in Salt Lake City.
She was an active volunteer in the Salt Lake area, in particular recording text books and novels for the blind for over 12 years. Two of her talking books are in the Library of Congress. Virginia was a well-known golfer in the state of Utah and while living in Salt Lake City, was the Willow Creek Country Club woman's champion for 16 consecutive years. In 1980, Virginia and Matt moved to an acreage near Roosevelt, UT, in 2000 they moved to Littleton, CO to be near family.
Survivors include her husband, Mathew of Littleton; two sons, Bruce of Highlands Ranch, CO; and Brian of Mountain View, CA.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 2nd, at 11:00 a.m. at Martin Funeral Home in Waukon, IA.
