Margaret Edwina (Christian) Hollums Emert, 94, of Floydada died on November 5, 2006 at the Floydada Rehab and Care Center in Floydada, TX.
Edwina was born on April 18, 1912 in Red River County, TX. to the late Harry Christian and Georgia (Greer) Christian. She grew up in Floydada and was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Edwina retired as a beautician after 42 years and then sold Avon products for 30 years. She was a Den Mother for Cub Scouts and also a charter member of the Floyd County Historical Museum.
She is preceded in death by her parents, one grandson, Jay Hollums, and one brother, Greer Christian.
She is survived by her husband, Tom Emert; one son, Randy Hollums, and wife, Teresa, of Floydada; one daughter, Harryette Purvis of Cisco, TX; two grandchildren, Christy Stone, and husband, Kevin of Plano, TX; D. G. Hollums, and wife, Tiffany, of Cold Springs, KY; two great-grandchildren, Hayden Stone and John Brady Stone; and one granddaughter-in-law, Sheila Hollums of Greensburg, PA.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 8, 2006 at First United Methodist Church of Floydada with Reverend Les Hall officiating. Burial will be in the Floydada Cemetery under the direction of Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home of Floydada.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Senior Citizens, 301 E. Georgia, Floydada, TX, the First United Methodist Church, 203 W. Kentucky, Floydada, TX or the Floyd County Historical Museum, 105 E. Missouri, Floydada, TX, 79235.
