He was deployed with the UK contingent of NATO forces in Afghanistan.
Tpr Hall died in Selly Oak Hospital in the UK from wounds sustained on September 12, 2009. He was injured when the Viking armoured vehicle he was driving was hit by an improvised explosive device south of Musa Qaleh, in the northwest of Helmand province.
Aged 21, from Dartmouth, Devon. He joined the army in November 2006 at age 18 and qualified as a Challenger 2 tank driver a year later. He made a quick impression with his driving skills and talent for making vehicles work. He converted to the Viking vehicle and deployed to Afghanistan in early June 2009, the week of his 21st birthday. Known to his mates as "Albert", he was remembered for his cheerfulness and happy smile. He was hardworking, quietly professional and popular with his squadron.
Tpr Hall leaves behind his parents, Susan and Peter, brothers and sisters, his girlfriend Hannah, along with other family and friends.
Funeral with full military honours was held on October 1, 2009 at St Saviour's Church in Dartmouth.
