LOIS L. DAWSON

Graveside services for Lois L. Dawson, 74, Davis, were January 30 at Green Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Lonny Lee and the Rev. Finis Steelman officiating. Fox Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Dawson was born August 8, 1920 at Wister and died January 28 at Pauls Valley General Hospital. Her parents were Walt and Bea (Hester) Lucas. She married Robert T. Dawson in 1945 at Spiro, and they moved to Davis in 1965. He preceded her in death November 2, 1994. She was a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, Joe Bob Dawson of Wayne, and her mother-in-law, Evelyn Johnson of Davis.

Dawson Retires

Mrs. Lois Dawson is retiring from Davis school system at the end of the current school term. She has taught in the junior high school for the past 13 years and has completed 37 years of teaching in public schools.

Mrs. Dawson attended Southeastern State college at Durant and received her bachelor's degree from Northeastern State college in Tahlequah.

She started teaching in 1942. She taught in Stoney Point School near Spiro for 20 years and at Ft. Smith, Ark., for two years before moving to Davis. She taught in the Woodland school, west of Davis, for two years before joining the Davis schools.

Mrs. Dawson is a member of National Education Association, Oklahoma Education Association and the Murray County Education Association.

Her husband, Bob, is retired from the Soil Conservation Service. Their son, Joe, is a science teacher in the Wayne Public school.
