GILBERT, Wilbur Eugene "Tiny" 1933 ~ 2009 Born February 19, 1933, in Roebuck, Walnut Grove Township, Spartansburg County, S.C. Passed away September 16, 2009, at Valley Presbyterian Hospital, Van Nuys, Calif. He grew up in Simpsonville, Greenville County, S.C., and Essex and Dundalk, Baltimore County, Md. He attended Dundalk High School, in Dundalk, Baltimore County, Md. He served in the U.S. Air Force from Feb. 25, 1953 to Feb. 1957. He has lived in the Antelope Valley for 54 years. He was a aircraft mechanic at Edwards Air
Force Base, retiring in 1995. He enjoyed camping, hunting and photography, was a member The of Sons of the American Revolution. Survived by his wife Wanda L. Gilbert of Lancaster, children Lester E. Gilbert (Stephanie) of Quartz Hill, Terry Lynn Caron (Steve) of Edwards A.F.B., Edwards, Calif., Thomas L. Gilbert (Pamela) of Kalispell, Mt., and David A. Gilbert (Erin) of Big Fork, Mt., grandchildren Dianne, Melanie, Britney, Lauren, Ashley, Daniel, Stephanie, Ethan, Douglas, Sarah, Andrew, Rebecca, Katie and Hannah, also 5 great-grandchildren. Also survived by siblings Horace E. "Gil" Gilbert of West Chester, Ohio, Nancy "Sugie" Heuerman of Stewardstown, Pa., Dorothy "Dot" Clary of Baltimore, Md., Preceded in death by his parents Milo Gilbert and Rilla Boiter Gilbert and sister Doris Gilbert McKee. Viewing will be held from 4:30 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2009, at Halley- Olsen-Murphy, Chapel, Lancaster. Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2009, at New Life Church of the Nazarene, 44339 North Beech Ave, Lancaster, Calif. Burial to follow at Joshua Memorial Park, Lancaster.
