Funeral services for Henry Minor Mangum, 73, of 3703 Tampa Streets, will be held this afternoon at 4 o'clock in the Hopewell Baptist Church. Rev. Angus McClellan and Rev Vernon Moore will officiate. He died at the St. Joseph Hospital in Tampa due to necrotizing cholecystitis diagnosed 3 months prior to his death. This led to obstructive hepatitis 2 months prior to his death. He also had underlying chronic emphysema. These were determined to be the causes of death under an autopsy performed on June 20, 1950.

He was the son of William Lee Magnum and Margaret Lee. He had three siblings: John William "J.W." Magnum, Kelleaus Parmer Magnum, and Harvey L. Bertram Magnum. He also had a 1/2 brother William Lee Magnum, Jr. and a half sister, Mary C. Magnum, when his father remarried.

He married Nancy Charlotte Smith in Wilcox County, Georgia on November 4, 1911. To this union they had 11 children: Lucille Magnum, Delma James Magum, Clifford Henry Magnum, Walter H. Magnum, James H Magnum, Hida Hugh Mangum, Mary J Mangum, William Ferrell Mangum, Emma Jean Mangum Stewart, Helen Grace Mangum Walters, and John Hubert "Mickey" Mangum.

Henry and Charlotte moved a lot in south Georgia. In 1917 they are found in Desoto, Sumter County, Georgia. In 1930 they are in Hartsfield, Colquitt County, Georgia. By 1935 they are living in Hillsborough Florida. He lived in Hillsborough County for about 18 years and was retired from farming.

Internment will be on June 22, 1960 at the Hopewell Cemetery in Hillsborough County, Florida. Wells Funeral Home in Plant City, Florida was in charge of the funeral arrangements. The following will serve as pallbearers and please meet at the church at 3:45 o'clock, S. D. Eady, Aaron Townsend, Dick Powell, Joe H. Brock, Bill Waccaser, and Ellis Lloyd.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Henry M. Magnum, Plant City; daughters, Mrs. C. J. Stewart, Ruskin; Mrs. E. T. Spears, Lithia; Mrs. S. B. Cook, Plant City; Mrs. Grace Waters, Plant City. Sons, Clifford, Walter, and John, all of Plant City; J. H., Lakeland; W. F., Oshkosh, Wisconsin; H. H. Magnum, New London, Connecticut. Brothers Keallous Magnum, Fitzgerald, Georgia and Harvey Magnum, Jacksonville. 32 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
